Midwest Memorials Difference

Honoring a Life, Preserving a Legacy

No two lives share the same story — and neither should the monument that honors them. Each piece we create begins with the individual being remembered: their life, their values, their faith, and the legacy they leave behind. Every detail is chosen with intention, allowing the memorial to reflect a legacy that is deeply personal and entirely unique.

This is not about selecting something off the shelf. It’s about creating something meaningful — a lasting tribute that preserves a legacy for generations to come.

Built to Stand the Test of Time

When cemetery regulations allow, we install upright memorials on granite foundations rather than concrete, providing greater durability, stability, and a cleaner finished appearance. Every memorial we install is placed with long-term integrity in mind.

If you purchase a memorial from us and it ever settles, shifts, or requires releveling, we will return to correct it. Our commitment to proper installation doesn’t expire — we stand behind our work for the life of the memorial.

A Calm, Compassionate Experience

We understand how overwhelming going through a difficult time is, the memorial that will be at the final resting spot for years to come should not be hard on you the customer or family member. That’s why we offer a peaceful, private, and pressure-free environment—meeting families where they’re most comfortable and guiding them with compassion, patience, and respect..

Designed With You, Not Just For You

We collaborate closely with families through every step of the design process. From lettering and artwork to layout and granite selection, your memorial is thoughtfully planned—never rushed, never generic.

Independent. Family-Owned. Community-Driven.

As an independent, family-owned business, our focus isn’t volume—it’s service, integrity, and lasting relationships. We proudly serve families across Wisconsin and Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska and Michigan with care that extends far beyond the installation. Our greatest joy is being able to serve and take care of families through thoughtful monument and memorial work.

We recommend scheduling an appointment so we can sit down together and talk through your options in a relaxed, comfortable setting. There’s no rush and no pressure—our focus is on learning about you or your loved one, listening to what matters most, and thoughtfully guiding you through options at a pace that feels right.

Appointments are available for custom granite monuments, headstones, memorial design, and final date engraving consultations.

Our Story

Midwest Memorials was founded by Elise and Craig Schumacher with a shared belief that memorialization should be thoughtful, personal, and designed to honor a life with lasting meaning. As a family-owned monument company, we create custom granite monuments and headstones that preserve each legacy for generations to come—while providing the highest level of care and service throughout the process.
